Corporación CLC is a family business with Venezuelan capital with more than 60 years of experience in the mattress industry. In Venezuela they have the exclusive representation of “Sealy”, one of the largest mattress companies in the world. As part of their strategic plan, they decided to expand in the region and chose Peru as the next market to develop.
Transaction summary
The company's owners wanted to capitalize on the significant growth potential of the Komfort brand in the local market. Contact was made with several local investors and some from abroad. The most interested from the beginning was the Venezuelan group “Corporación CLC”. They were looking to enter the Peruvian market but preferred to do so with a locally recognized brand, Komfort fit perfectly with their thesis. After a tough negotiation, the parties reached an agreement and the transaction was possible.
